Jan Tschichold was born in April of 1902 in Leipzig, Germany and died in August of 1974. Jan Tschichold was not only a book designer, but he was also a typographer, teacher, and a writer. Jan Tschichold was an amazing artist, looking at his artwork it gives me a sense of security. I’m not sure if I feel this way because of how geometrical his work is or the colors he seems to use. His color choices were very straightforward and efficient. His simple color choices taught designers that even simple solutions were sometimes a little more practical and clean work was always a must. I believe that Jan Tschichold is one of the most creative designers of his time. I honestly believe that his work shaped graphic design for years even after his death.
